Israel 2012 Trip - Bethlehem

by Connection News | | News

On Friday, May 25, we began our day with a trip to the Mount of Olives, which overlooks Jerusalem from the east side. From this vantage point, you can see where the Temple would have stood, and after a teaching from Skip, we made our way down to the Garden of Gethsemane (see Luke 22). Next, we took a trip to Bethlehem—the birthplace of Jesus—and continued our sightseeing with a tour of a crusades-era church, the Church of the Nativity. We finished our sightseeing with a trip to the Garden Tomb where many believe Jesus was buried before His resurrection. This is also the site of Golgotha, or “Skull,” where Jesus was crucified. Stay tuned, as we begin traveling to Rome in the morning!
