Expound Communion

by Connection News | | News

On Wednesday, October 31, Skip Heitzig and Calvary Albuquerque came together for a special communion and devotional service.  Ryan Wylie and the OUTLOUD choir were united with the voices of God's people as the service opened with powerful praises to our Lord and King. Praise continued with some toe-tapping hymns of old, brought to us by the band Vagabond Prophet, whose members include Skip Heitizg, Kenny Riley, Brian Nixon, and Sandy Dunn.

Skip then taught a short review of Leviticus 1-9 as we considered our need for a sacrifice and a priest. He explained how, in the New Covenant, Jesus Christ fulfills both roles. Later, Skip was joined by the Communion board and their wives, who served Communion to congregation. It was a joy to remember Jesus' great sacrifice by celebrating the Lord's Supper.
