MESSAGE SUMMARY
For the last eight weeks, we've considered what makes Christ so unique. Today we briefly consider what makes a true Christian so unique. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian really is one! Some equate Christianity with church attendance, Bible reading and spiritually sounding words like, "Praise God! Hallelujah!" But Jesus Himself sets the record straight. What is a genuine Christian? Let’s let Jesus answer that.
OUTLINE
- Making the Right Speech (vv. 21-22)
- The Acknowledgment of the Good Lord
- The Affirmation of Good Words
- The Accomplishment of Good Works
- Missing the Right Stuff (v. 23)
- The Absence of a Lifestyle
- The Absence of a Relationship
- Minding the Right Steps (vv. 24-27)
Pondering the Principles:
- Look up 2 Corinthians 13: 5: From time-to-time it is good to take inventory of our spiritual lives and test them for authenticity.
- Ask a close friend to help in the examination process. Accountability helps promote authenticity and integrity.
