SERIES: Paul's Long Road to Rome
MESSAGE: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Damascus!
SPEAKER: Skip Heitzig
SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:3-6

Historians still talk about the amazing transformation of Saul of Tarsus. How did the chief opponent of the gospel become the chief proponent of the same gospel? The funny thing is that some who have investigated Saul's conversion have come to believe in the same Jesus. Let's examine the four stages of Saul of Tarsus' transformation on the Damascus Road.

I. Interruption (Vss 3-4a)

II. Interrogation (Vs 4b)

III. Conviction (Vs 5)

IV. Resignation (Vs 6)

What About You?
1. Describe a way that God has gotten your attention? How has God used the episode to teach you about Him? What have you learned? Someone once stated, "God speaks to us through the regularity by which He disappoints our plans." Do you agree with that?

2. The goads of conviction: Can you still feel them from time to time? Is your heart getting more calloused to conviction or are you still tender-hearted?

3. When was the last time you asked the "second question" that Saul asked Jesus?
