SERIES: Paul's Long Road to Rome
MESSAGE: The Seminary of Pain
SPEAKER: Skip Heitzig
SCRIPTURE: Acts 13-14;2 Corinthians 12

Will Durant, the great American historian remarked concerning his own education, “Sixty years ago I knew everything; now I know nothing!” Funny how that works, isn’t it? The Apostle Paul emerged on the church scene after years of theological training in Judaism. But his education was just beginning. God had His own school for Paul to enroll in—The Seminary of Pain! A study of Paul’s life would not be complete without considering this important aspect.

1. Describe an experience of God enrolling you in His school of pain. How have you been doing on the tests?

2. How could your experience help others who are facing the same situation? Read 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7 and apply it by becoming a comforter.

3. Ever consider changing your prayer? Rather than praying “How can I get out of this?”, how about praying “What can I get out of this?”
